Do not abuse power

I had not learned Tai shang gan ying pian since the last post in Jan 2011. Now, I have to clear all unwanted stuffs related to Singapore general election. I want to learn something meaningful. Let's study part six of Tai shang gan ying pian again.
Evil-doers
Nos 28:
They appropriate the accomplishments of their neighbor and conceal his good qualities.
Nos 29:
They make known his foibles and expose his secrets.
Nos 30:
They squander his property and
Nos 31:
.....cause divisions in his family. They attack that which is dear to others. They assist others in doing wrong.
Nos 32:
Their unbridled ambition makes for power, and through the degradation of others they
seek success.

My view:
In this world, some one like to steal other's belongings without permission. They like to help others doing bad things. They abuse their power for their own gain.
I think all these are bad, we must do do it.

Please treasure your life

Please treasure your life, all readers. Life is short and precious, please make full use of your capacities to have the meaningful life.
Of course, in the journey of life, we all will face all kinds of obstacles. In whatever position your are in, in whatever relationship with others, we have to face it and live bravely.
Firstly, we have to adopt the positive attitude towards life start from the beginning. If we have dreams, we just do our best, that's it.
I am sad to read the news about the young girl who had made the silly move. Let's read the news and please do not follow her stupid act. Do not take life lightly.
The sad news:
An 18-year-old girl fell to her death in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 on Saturday evening.

Krystal Aki Mizoguchi, who was half Japanese, was found dead at the foot of her block at about 7.40pm at Blk 509, Ang Mo Kio Ave 6, reported Shin Min Daily News.

She is said to have fallen from her flat on the ninth floor and according to the Chinese daily, is believed to have committed suicide due to relationship problems.

Two suicide notes were reportedly discovered. Krystal, who was to turn 19 next month, was waiting to begin classes at a private university after finishing a five-month stint as a temporary clerk at the Ministry of Education.

According to her blog, the Yishun Junior College student grew up in a single-parent family and has been living with her 17-year-old brother for three years in her current three-room flat. Her parents are believed to be separated.

Krystal is also known to have begun dating from 13 years old and since then neglected her studies.

A scan of her Facebook page revealed several cheerful photos of herself in what seemed to be a usual teenager's life.

But her blog http://twitchytoes.blogspot.com/ last entry on her blog, dated March 5 earlier this year and which was entitled "Crash and Burn", spoke of her broken dreams after poor A-Level exam results.

She wrote, "PSLE, I xxxx-ed up. Couldn't get into dream secondary school."

"'O' Levels, I xxxx-ed up. Couldn't get a place in dream polytechnic course."

"Ended up transferring to YJC. I got my dreams crushed again, after seeing my 'A' Levels grades yesterday."
---------end of the news---------------------------------------------
I went to her blog to write the comment, wishing her rest inpeace and go to heaven.

Worried citizen

The following article was written by worried citizen. ( Published on Tan Kim Lian blog )
SGEP 28 March 2011
PM Lee – Think of the Future
Dear SGEP
Prime Minister Lee said that the citizens must think of the future when they vote at the forthcoming general
election. I agree with PM Lee. I wish to share this message with him.
For the past decades, I have been a staunch supporter of the PAP. I must admit that I did not have the chance to
vote for them, as I live in a constituency that has always been a walkover for the PAP. I have also been a proud
Singaporeans, happy with the economic progress that has been achieved through their leadership.
At this election, I will be thinking about the future – not for me (as I am half retired), but for my struggling
children and their children.
I wish to ask PM Lee about their future:
1. Will they have to compete with foreigners for jobs and for HDB flats?
2. Will the wages be stagnated while the cost of living keeps climbing up and up?
3. Will they have to serve National Service and be called up now and again, disrupting their careers, while
competing with foreigners?
4. Will HDB flats be affordable, or will it take them 30 years and longer, for both working parents, to pay off the
loans?
5. Do they have to work long hours, 10 hours or more a day, to be cheaper, better and faster, just to keep their
jobs?
6. Will they have the time, and the courage, to produce children – which they cannot afford to keep?
I wish to ask the Prime Minister about their future. Will there be a future for Singaporeans, under your economy
policy and leadership?

Lujiang Culture and Education Center

Last post I mentioned that many Confucius learning institution worldwide. Even in China, more and more people are eager to learn their own traditional culture. It is good to understand the past. Why this post call: Lujiang Culture and Education Centre , because it makes the difference. The centre is situated at Tangchi China.

The founder of the centre is Mr. Chin Kung, is in his eighties. He piloted his ideas in his hometown Lujiang by establishing the Lujiang Culture and Education Centre. Local residents are taught classical philosophy, which embodies wisdom and experiences accumulated in over 5,000 years.

Mr. Chin kung Said:" In the beginning, I thought that it would take three years to change the local culture. Yet I was surprised to find that local social capital has improved in less than half a year,".
Now, Tangchi Town has more visitors than ever. People come here because residents here have transformed well after the learning. This small town with more than 2,000 years of history and about 48,000 residents, in Lujiang County, central China's Anhui Province.
The town is now a synonym for peace and harmony. Its reputation has attracted visitors such as Australia writer Mr. Greg Budd, representatives from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Greg Rudd is an expert for China culture, he heard of the ancient Chinese saying that some places are so safe that people do not need to lock their doors at night.
Now he found this true of the hotel he stayed in Tangchi.
Greg Rudd said: "In this town, people are very polite and friendly to each other, even strangers are greeted with smiles.........Before I came here, I was skeptical. Now I realize that the teachers are very faithful in practicing what they preach."

Greg Rydd was impressed with Lujiang Culture and Education Center, a non-profit school in Tangchi. The center is staffed with volunteers from home and abroad, including specialists who quit high-paying jobs to teach ethics and etiquette there.

Who is Mr. Chin Kung?

He has served as visiting or honorary professor at Renmin University of China and several other universities home and abroad, teaching courses in conflict resolution and sociology. In recent years, Chin Kung has attended many international peace conferences, advocating classical Chinese ethics education as a tool to resolve conflict and promote peace and stability. Many people agree with his lofty ideas, but think they are too good to work in practice.

How the programs were showcased?

In early October 2006, UNESCO invited the officials of Tangchi, and the management and teachers of the center to its headquarters in Paris for a three-day visit. The representatives from Tangchi showcased their programs to the world. Experts from many countries have expressed strong interest in Tangchi and an increasing number of people visit the center.

How visitors felt after visiting Tangchi?

"After a brief stay in Tangchi, I felt the rich traditional Chinese culture brought serenity to my heart," said Dr. Preeyanuch Jariyavidyanont, Deputy Permanent Delegate of Thailand to UNESCO. "The achievement of cultural education in Tangchi has illustrated that what works to bring peace and harmony to the family may bring peace and stability to the world."

What subjects they teach?

The Chinese ethical system implemented in Tangchi is centered on the family. At the heart of the Confucianism ethical system are the five moral disciplines of human relations, which state that: Faithfulness, or trust and loyalty, should exist between sovereign and subject; intimacy, or fatherly love and filial love, should exist between father and son; distinction, or differentiated responsibility, should exist between husband and wife; the younger should give precedence to the elder, or sisterly and brotherly love, and sincerity should reign over the relationship between friends.

Can you elabrate it?

Three of the five disciplines govern relations between family members. "Like the stars that follow their orbits, human beings also need to follow their tracks," Cai Lixu, Head of Training of the Lujiang Culture and Education Center said. "When each of us follows the right track, we are behaving ethically, and collision is avoided."

Cai added, "The teachers all have a strong conviction that nurture can prevail over nature." This has been illustrated in Chinese classics, which said, "Men are born nice, with similar human natures though different dispositions. If not taught properly, some will go astray."

During their cultural-exchange tours to Tangchi, many visitors have discovered stunning similarity among individuals, cultures, ethnical groups and religions. "If we let go of prejudices, open our hearts, and treat each other fairly and forgivingly, peace will ensue," said Jariyavidyanont. "From the eyes of Tangchi residents, I can read the happiness in their hearts. From them I learned that happiness comes from giving and loving. Sincerity breeds joys and joys are contagious."

Teachers at the center have empowered themselves and their students with ancient teachings such as, "Extend the respect for the elderly in one's family to that of other families; extend the love of the young ones in one's family to that of other families."

"In fact, traditional culture teaches us not only to love ourselves but also other people in the world. It broadens our horizon, and gives us an asset that we can hand down to the next generations," said Li Yiduo, Deputy Director of the Law School in Peking University, who instructs master students there.

Li Ying, a teacher in Beijing who visited Tangchi several times within half a year, believes that one should understand peace with the big picture in mind. Peace and harmony will prevail if the walls between homes are torn down, and people open up their minds and hearts. "Here are peace and harmony. In silence we can hear the voice of Tangchi speaking, which touches our hearts."

The information are extracted from Luijiang Culture and Eucation Centre.

Confucius learing institues worldwide

  1. Confucius teaching can mould people towards the path of goodness.
If China let go all the old stuffs and follow western corrupted mindset, China will be doomed and down.
If China can adopt the ancient but good values, China will continue to survive many many years.
It looks like China government have already waken up.
I have go through some Confucius teachings. I have to say the teachings are very useful especially in this horrible world. The crucial part is start from our own home. Family harmony is the starting point. For me, I have no hatred about Confucius teaching. Because many traditional values are always suitable for human world at all times. I have cleared all my misunderstanding about Confucius teaching. Remember Confucius never created any new ideas but collect the advice from ancient people of wisdom. The five elements described in the Confucius teachng
  2. 1. Love.
    1. 2. upright.
      3. Good manner.
      4. wisdom.
      5. Trustworthy.
These five elements are so important not only to present China bit the whole world.

  3. Let me tell you little bit about the recent China history. These traditional values were taught in the past probably two hundred years ago.
In year 1911, the last kingdom was collapsed. Since then China had entered to the confused period until now. All these traditional values were neglected. Because of
    1. losing self-confidence of the own traditional values.
    2. Foreign power like British, France and other countries using their guns to invade China since midder of 1800. China lost Hng kong, Macau and signned many agreement with all these foreign powers, China losing a lot of money to all these greedy foreign powers.
    3. the influence of western power, science and technology shaken China people mindset.
    4. Internal conflict between Communists and democratic party after second world war.
    5. Japan invaded China ifrom year 1937 onwards until 1945.
So, since 1911, China was in confused period.
Now, China had developed economically but too many people are losing direction.
I think the revial of China traditional values is the right direction for China and its people.
China people must preserve their own roots. Only that they can only survive for many years.
Should they follow the current western culture led by USA? 200-300 years?
500 years of China culture is the treasure for China people.
I have listened to many China people that they have benefited from learning all these good values. As you know human beings including past kings, past and present presidents of any country, they are all " human beings ". From ancient time until todays, similar type of bad deeds are happening every day even today. Some are good, some are bad.
You agree tha the recent history of China was (is) a mess. That's why China needs " education ".
The best way is still inject good traditional values like "filial piety" This is the essence of Confucius teachings. This " filial piety " is needed not just in China but all nations.
The past thousands years history-the traditional values had created the harmony in the past.
I do not know whether Confucius was promoting "foot-binding" or not? I believe Confucius wouldn"t do that.
I do not know whether Confucius was promoting- one men could legally live with many women, and can trade their women freely with other men's women ? like trading slaves? (You"re sure Confucius himself would not prefer to do so....)
Confucius teachings are great but people need real action. They ready need to put it into dail life not just talk only.
From the top like government, to the bottom, all need to show good examples, then all will be blessed.
Few years ago, there was the teacher who promote Confucius teachings in his home town. Wow, the atmosphere there is in harmony. The teacher had presented to UNITED NATION.
No wonder one of the UK educationists had said that Confucius teachings and mahabuddhism can help the world in 21st century.
' System is good but people fail " is the real worry. Can you tell me the difference betwwen tiger mother and non-tiger mother?
    What is the difference?
    What is your proposal?
Any better teachings are suitable for the happiness of China people? China ancient government adopted the Confucius teachings was the smart way. That's why China could survive so many years and maintained in unity even until today.
Not just Confucius teaching, Taoism and Buddhism all combined together became china culture.
The selection of government officers were based on two factors
    1. filial piety.
    2. free from corruption.
That's why China had so many upright government officers in the past.
All this achievement because of traditional culture.
So, how can China let go the roots, think deeply.
Only stupid people will ban Confucius teaching, I mean China. From Confucius teaching, I know ancient parents were very responsible one unlike current Chinese parents they are care less and do not know how to take good care of their kids. For this part, we ready need to learn from ancient China saints.
    1. Their strictness is good for their kids.
    2. Their parents ready show good examples like manners, etc.
    3. They build up their foundation so that their kids know what are right and wrong. So, the kids can have the blessed future life.
    a. The kids learn how to behave well.
    b. The kids wouldn't do funny or bad deeds to disgrace their parents.
Remember without filial piety, kids will likely go astray just like children in this present world, they have no shame at all, always like to do ghostly things.
Remember Confucius teachings can mould people to be upright people. No wonder China had so many saints who always loved people, helped the needy.
I am the one who support the Confucius teachings because I know these teachings are always good to human beings even thousands year later.
Why? because the teachings are closed to our nature----our hidden wisdom.
Once we have our inborn wisdom exploited, only that, we will realise how important Confucius teachings, the roots of China.
If China still never learn these good values, China will then be laughed by others.
It is ready stupid to discard the teaching of wisdom---Confucius teachings.
The more you study Confucius teachings, the more you will appreciate how ancient people" heart.
They were ready people of love unlike the modern people who always like to look for external...........The last kingdom was led by the lady who was not the wise one. She believed ghostly words from the group. She thought that the disciples had the powers to counter the guns from western powers.
Because of she dumped the Confucianism and othe traditional cultures, the kingdom finally collapsed.
Of course when we learn Confucius teaching, we must know its true meaning.
Only for those who ready learn it and put it into action can tell us their real experiences.
But I am very happy to see Mr. Hu the businessman who had put it into action, his business is growing well.
That's why In Malaysia, the ministry of education also support the teaching of Confucius.
Even USA also have many institution about China traditional learning. If the teaching is no good.
Now, China people are so eager to learn their own culture. It is better to have roots so as to counter the western sub-culture's bad influence. Like any belief, there are always people who support or against.
So, do you have any better ideas what China should culture?
Is it get rid of its culture completely?
If not, can you provide some solution or good ideas?

Internet is evil, is it true?

Nowadays many people surf Internet. All types of information are available in Internet. Someone told me that Internet is like the evil world. He told me the story.
One day the devil king talked to the teacher who spreading good virtues in Internet. The devil king talked to the teacher: " why you never ask my permission and spread your talks in Internet video.
The teacher told the devil king:" Please do not disturb us, all the merits will be given to you and I hope you can stop doing bad deeds........"
After reading this story. I am thinking..........
My friends, It looks like the devil king's followers are many. For example, some evil-minded followers are spreading the slanted messages through some Internet messager to tempt people to go to their polluted web sites.
Their purpose is to pollute people mind and do all types of ghostly things like exposing your bodies and do all types of indecent or shameful acts. Once you enter these areas more likely you will be blurred like "so tong ".
My friends, do you think Internet is evil?
Let me tell you the real answer.
Our Internet is actually controlled by the devil king. Everyday thousands of Internet users unknowingly are entering to the evil kingdom. Once you enter to their territory, you will be slowly become their followers and finally you will follow the devil for a very long time.
Especially year 2011 onwards.
After reading this post, please think deeply....are you the evil follower?

Confucius statue in Tiananmen

CHINA has unveiled the 7.9-metre-tall statue of Confucius on Tienanmen Square. This is the good sign because China people have the chance to learn the ancient philosopher's valuable teachings again. China people had no chance to learn this traditional values for decades. It had created lots of social problems because people did not know what were right and wrong. The teachings of China's most popular philosopher Confucius, who was born in 551 BC, centred on peace, harmony and each citizen's duty to respect their superiors. But the teachings were denounced and banned under Mao's times , particularly during the icon-smashing years of the radical Cultural Revolution 1966 to 1976 ( the most darkest years in recent history of China ). The current government realise the importance of Confucius teachings can solve many social problems. Last year, I had written about Confucius teachings like love parents, love brothers and sisters, ways to be the normal person, the feed backs were good. I hope China can continue this good move. I believe if China can adopt this moral teachings, China people' life will become better and better. What is your view?
