Compassion

Yesterday, I phoned my niece to say " Hello " to her. My niece is a primary one student and she likes to help others. Sometimes she helps her teachers to carry books to the office.
She told me that she had just received a certificate of compassion. I asked her whether she did something good. She told me the following : "--Last week, I saw a classmate fell down and injured herself and I brought her to the general office for first aid. I was awarded the certificate of compassion because of this. "
Hearing this, I complimented her: " -- You have done a good deed, keep it up. --"
It is really good that the teacher praised her by giving her a certificate. Other young students also can learn to be compassionate to others.
Do you agree that compassion should be cultivated from young?

Yes we should encourage kids from the young age about compassion. This can lead to toleration and cooperation too.

When they learn this at early age, they will bring this good attitude further when they get older. A good thing for a leader as well.

Nice post.

starting from young indeed. that's when the brains are sponge-like; absorbing all elements in life.

Yes it SHOULD. I'm working in a sch, and student nowadays don't even respect the teachers. Teachers are treated like a wall. Kids.

it's postive reinforcement... rewarding someone to motivate him/her to continue doing good deeds...

good values are instill in every individual as early as childhood and these are learned first in home (family) and in school(teachers/educators). Formative years is a critical period for children because here they learn things that will last until their aging years. That is why we (adults) are responsible in teaching them good values by first living up to what we are teaching- be a good example and model to them is still the best motivation.

take care... see u around!

It should definitely encouraged.be School is where the children spend most of their time so it is really a great thing that values are being taught there aside from their home.

Fara,
I have the same thinking that a 7 years old kid can do such a good deed.
You say " awwwwwwwww. how cute , there wasnt such thing back when i was 7."
It is true that kid's brain is like asponge absorbing all elements in life.
Fara, so we should cultivate them from young.

Haney,
There are many reasons why kids behave like what yiou say " Teachers are treated like a wall.
You are working in a school, and student nowadays don't even respect the teachers.
I think we have to find some solution for these, may be we have forgotten the proper taeching on kids.
Thanks for your comment, have a nice day.

Hello.
You got one great niece. Acknowledging the kids everytime they do good deeds it motivates them to do it again. Its a good idea that teachers awards them with certificate of compassion, it'll inspire other kids to do the same too.
take care :]
