Sympathy

Last saturday, Cyclone hit Myanmar badly, so many people died. A giant wave washed in, dragging everything into the sea. Houses and building collapsed and people were swept away. An estimated million people left homeless by devastating cyclone. Many countries had offered assistance to Myanmar, like water, food, medical supply, tent, etc.
These few days, many people here talked about this cyclone incident. People showed sympathy, they donated clothes and money.
Yesterday , I passed by a coffee shop and overheard the conversation as follow:
Richard:" David, I feel sad that so many cyclone victims still waiting water and food." David:" This is not my country, nothing do with me."
Richard:" David, how can you say that? we are all human, we should show sympathy and offer help. We should not just ignore it. How about if these things happened to you and your family?"
David:" Richard, sorry, you are right, I am so selfish. I should show sympathy."
Friends, Do you behave like David while hearing this cyclone incident? I feel sad for them and I will donate some money.

I really felt sad after knowing this! Honestly, when I saw the pictures of the dead people... i broke into tears... one of my officemate said that she couldn't stand staring at those pictures because she finds it very frightening and gruesome... but i felt the other way... i felt really moved abd sad... i couldn't help it!

I felt there's nothing I can do now but pray for them... I paused for several minutes just praying for the victim's lost souls...

really sad...coolingstar!

If my mate ever said that to me, I would give her a slap on the face. This is too inhuman. Sorry I feel very strongly about this issue. We are all humans regardless of race or nationality!
Please help them if you can!

You have sympathy like Richard.
There are certain reasons that their government suspended the aid from United Nation and Other countries, may be due to security reasons.
I wish this cyclone vitims can get immediate help, because every life is previous.
Lets hope the situation can back to normal.
Have a nice week.

It is sad that Most of the people lost their family members while they were clinging to each other... Many people are traumatized .There are those in the Burmese diaspora with relatives in the worst-affected areas who have waited for days with no news from home.here is some more....A powerful earthquake has killed at least 8,500 people in China's south-western Sichuan province, up to 5,000 of them in just one county. bad but there is hope som where .Wishing you well
