Think before we talk

Yesterday, my friend told me the encounter that made him depressed for one whole day.
As you know nowadays many Internet users like to join different type of social network. My friend John had joined one of the social network and added many on line friends. What made him so angry just because of the following comment:
" John, you look very old as if you look likes 40 years old, I do not want to be your friend." seeing this, my friend felt hurt and depressed. He looked like totally lost the morale.
I consoled him: " John, please take it easy. This is the reality that in the real or Internet world, some will like you, some will not. Do not keep it to the heart, you just ignore it. It does not matter, surely some one will accept your invite. Please smile, you still have a lot of interesting things to do....."
After that, he really smiled and said:" Thank you very much. "
My friends, do you know why John felt depressed while seeing the comment?
My friends, I like to write more but I need to stop here because I feel hungry now.
One point I like to emphasize : Think before we talk or write, especially we must not hurt other's feeling unnecessary, am I right? Let's smile and empty all the worries.

Wow.. That's harsh.. I think that person should just reject the invitation of being a friend rather than comment on why he/she rejects it.

I am feeling pity with your friend, but I also think that it is up to people who you want to be friend with whether they want to accept you or not. Some only want friends who share the same interest. Some just want to be friend with cool people..

If someone doesn't want to be your friend, don't worry. That's their lost. Not yours :)

Have a great weekend my friend!

That's so true--it's hard to think before we talk, especially if we're feeling stressed. It's good to remember another's feelings first before we say anything.

Most likely, this person wanted to be mean (meaning he/she DID think before writing, and specifically came up with something that would hurt your friend's feelings). In the end, he's better off, because nobody needs friends like that.

I would love to be John's friend, may I know his URL? ;-)

I wouldn't want to be the friend of his commenter. People like that doesn't deserve to be anyone's friend.

Some people are really harsh, they don't care what other people may feel. Being tactless can damage one's feelings and it's like a dagger that when used wrongly, it's very hard to repair. We should be tactful enough and always stop to think before we say anything. Let's always put ourselves in other people's shoe.

To John, cheer up! We are here for you!

thats too harsh
yeah me too i encountered people online who says bad things against you with no reasons
but you have to tell john that we are not living to please other people ...we are what we are ...and if they cant accept you at your worst then they dont deserve you at your best
have a great day and tell your friend dont feel so bad about it

It is too bad some people can be so mean. Your friend should be happy that this person is not his friend because he deserves better. He will find a good friend on there just be patient.

Oh dear, tell your friend I am very old then cos I am more than 40...
However, I am young at heart as all my friends know. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we were all kind to one another? Greetings to you all :D
